Join United by Blue, Aqua Vida, Oru Kayak, Little Baby's, Philadelphia Water, Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation for a cleanup of The Lakes of FDR Park. Stretching out about 348 acres, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park, is a coveted green space for South Philadelphia. The park draws an eclectic outdoor crowd, providing resources for all kinds of activity. Whether you are watching a baseball game, kayaking at Meadow Lake, having a family picnic, birdwatching or skate boarding in the skate park, you will always find recreation at FDR! In addtition to high activity in the summer months, FDR Park is set between the South Philadelphia Sports Complex and Interstate 95, which causes a lot of trash to build up in the park. Please help us to clean-up the Lakes at FDR, so everyone can continue to enjoy its beauty!
Aqua Vida will offer a unique cleanup experience to volunteers by offering Stand-Up Paddleboards to clean along the lakes edge! We'll also be joined by our friends at Oru Kayak and will provide UBB x Oru kayaks for select volunteers to pick up trash on the water. These kayaks were designed by the United By Blue team and are part of our upcoming capsule collection in collaboration with Oru.
United By Blue will provide all of the cleanup supplies. Pre-cleanup snacks will be provided by Clif Bar. All volunteers will have the chance to win United By Blue prizes during two cleanup games. Please be sure to wear closed toe shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty or wet! Groups of all sizes are welcome!
