ABOUT ABOUT

Join us for a company milestone: United by Blue is hosting their first ever Tuesday night waterway cleanup in New York City! On the third Tuesday of every month, we will visit a New York waterway, working to fulfill our mission: for every item sold United by Blue removes a pound of trash from our world's oceans and waterways.

Volunteer and give back to a vital New York waterway, the Hudson River. The Hudson is a tidal estuary where salt water from the ocean combines with freshwater from northern tributaries. A large variety of aquatic life call the Hudson River "home", and rely on it as a breeding ground for future generations. Sadly, the Hudson is polluted by plastic bags, wrappers, household trash and many other things that get thrown or blown into the river.

This after-work cleanup will feature games, prizes, snacks and surprises!  Please wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty, and a reusable water bottle.  Children must be accompanied by a parent. All cleanup supplies are provided.

Volunteers should take the #1, #2, or #3 train to 96th Street, walk north for one block until they hit 97th Street, then walk west on 97th until they hit Riverside Drive. Next, volunteers should cross the street and enter the Park at 97th Street. Walk north, passing the 97th Street Playground and bearing to the left (aka west) on path. Continue to walk north, following the fence line, until they hit a break in the fence line and there is a path leading westerly, down to the water. Take this path down to the waterfront. Keep an eye out for United by Blue representatives, signs and our cleanup tent and tables.
