ABOUT ABOUT

Join us as we give back to a vital Brooklyn park and waterway, Valentino Park and Pier, and Upper Bay.

On the third Tuesday of every month, we will visit a New York waterway, working to fulfill our mission: for every item sold United by Blue removes a pound of trash from our world's oceans and waterways.

A variety of marine species call Upper Bay home, and recreational fishing is common along the waterway. Historically, Upper Bay has been a major shipping route through New York. Sadly, the bay and surrounding waterfront is polluted by plastic bags, wrappers, household trash and many other things that get thrown or blown into the channel.

This after-work cleanup will feature games and prizes, and Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies will be serving up sweet and tasty treats for volunteers!

Please wear sturdy shoes or boots, clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty, and a reusable water bottle.  Children must be accompanied by a parent. All cleanup supplies are provided.

We will meet at the park, at the intersection of Coffey Street & Ferris Street. Street parking is available but limited, so carpooling or biking is encouraged. By public transit, take the B61 to Red Hook and get off at the intersection of Coffey and Van Brunt Street, and walk two blocks west to the park.

Keep an eye out for United by Blue representatives, signs and our cleanup tent and tables. Learn more about the cleanup by calling 215-278-7858 or emailing [email protected].
