Join United By Blue, Riverfront North Partnership, Philadelphia Water Department, Keep Philadelphia Beautiful, The Green Program, Reanimator Coffee, and Little Baby's Ice Cream for a cleanup of the Delaware River at the Frankford Boat Launch this summer!
Frankford Boat Launch sits at the shorline of the Delaware River, and is one of three public boat launches in the city of Philadelphia. The Launch is a popular spot for fishing, picnicking, or biking along the river trail, and is even home to a new family of beavers! Scenic views of the Delaware and these wildlife sightings keep folks coming back. The Delaware supports a huge diversity of wildlife, ranging from turtles to migratory birds, and flows into the Atlantic to affect oceanic wildlife as well. These species are all dependent on the health of the river and its tributaries. Unfortunately, the flow of some tributaries into the Delaware can carry urban, land-based trash into the river. This can get trapped at Frankford Boat Launch, and cause harm to the species that depend on this ecosystem. Help us protect the species that call this site home and prevent trash from flowing further downstream by participating in this cleanup!
United By Blue will provide all cleanup supplies. Join us for cleanup games, prize giveaways, and a day of enjoying and caring for the Delaware River! All volunteers will get free Little Baby's Ice Cream after the cleanup!
