Pier 68 Cleanup

By United By Blue (other events)

ABOUT ABOUT

For the first time in United by Blue history, we'll venture down Columbus Blvd. and attend to Philadelphia's often-overlooked piers. We will focus our efforts on Pier 68 and the surrounding area, even getting our hands dirty (and wet!) in the Delaware River.

The Delaware River has a significant fish habitat, identified by the Philadelphia Water Department, and many fisherman enjoy the pier for recreation and solitude, despite the polluted waters. In the close future, the DRWC intends to transform the currently abandoned Pier 68 into a new waterfront destination for active recreation and waterfront enjoyment.

Our cleanups include work and play, throughout the day we will holding competitions with prizes including free UBB merchandise.  Learn more by clicking here, calling 215-278-7858, or emailing [email protected].
