Join United By Blue, The City of Lawrence, and Sunflower Outdoor and Bike shop for their first ever joint Kansas River cleanup in Lawrence, KS! The Kansas River, also known as the Kaw, is the largest tributary of the Missouri River. The river winds for about 150 miles with limited man-made structures, allowing it to flow freely. This creates natural sand bars providing diverse animal habitat and popular resting spots for paddlers. Unfortunately, pollution makes its way to the water and banks, disrupting the wildlife, and the health of our river. Please join us for the Kansas River cleanup and help to protect Lawrence's natural resources.
This cleanup is one of 20 that United by Blue is co-hosting nationwide this summer, from June-August, to establish community partnerships between their specialty retailers, conservation or municipal partners, and volunteers.
