United By Blue's Armstrong County Creek Cleanup Part 1

ABOUT ABOUT

Join United By Blue for a cleanup in Armstrong County! We will be cleaning up the tributary of a local creek in Kittanning that flows into the Allegheny River. The tires that pile in this creek have been there for over 15 years. As the tires are exposed to sunlight they dry and leach out toxic chemicals poisoning the watersource. These chemicals are threatening our water and all of this Western PA ecosystem.

United By Blue will provide all cleanup supplies for the volunteers. All volunteers will receive a unique "United By Blue Cleanup Crew" tumbler from Klean Kanteen. Groups of all sizes are welcome!

Please wear closed toe shoes and lots of layers to keep warm. We also ask that our volunteers for this cleanup are willing and able to lift 50lbs. This event is free and open to the public! Please help us preserve this treasured wooden area of Armstrong County.

Lunch will be served to all participants!

Please be sure to sign up for either December 9 or 10 (or both days) and to choose which shift you would like (full day 9-4, morning half day 9- noon or afternoon half day noon - 4).

Contact us with any questions or concerns by emailing [email protected].
