Join United by Blue for a cleanup of the "watershed so nice, they named it thrice": the Frankford Creek at Tacony Creek Park and Fishers Lane Bridge. Pre-cleanup snacks will be provided by The Living Room Cafe and post-cleanup ice cream will be dished out by Little Baby's Ice Cream! We are also excited to partner with Waltzing Matilda USA to offer a unique prize to our games winner!
On the first Tuesday of every month we visit a Philadelphia waterway, working to fulfill our mission: for every item sold United by Blue removes a pound of trash from our world's oceans and waterways.
The creek begins in Montgomery County as Tookany Creek, is spelled differently (Tacony) in Philadelphia, then becomes Frankford Creek near the intersection of I and Ramona in Juniata Park, where we begin our cleanup. The creek spurred the creation of many parks along it's banks, and eventually drains into the Delaware River.

Getting There:
We will meet at the corner of I St. and Ramona Ave and work north-east through the park and across the creek. There is ample street parking on I St. and Ramona Ave.
By car from the South/ Center City Philadelphia:
- Take Vine St. to I-95-N
- Follow I-95-N for about 3 miles
- Take exit 25 toward Allegheny Ave/Castor Ave
- Turn left onto E Westmoreland St.
- Slight right onto I St.
- Follow I St. for 1.3 miles until it ends at Ramona Ave and the entrace to Tacony Creek Park
By car from the North/ Cheltenham, Philadelphia:
- Head southeast on W Cheltenham Ave and continue straight on Cheltenham Ave for about 2 miles
- W Cheltenham Ave turns right and becomes Crescentville Ave.
- Turn left onto Adams Ave.
- Turn right onto Whitaker Ave.
- Turn left onto E Roosevelt Blvd.
- Slight right onto Adams Ave.
- Turn right onto Ramona Ave.
- Turn right onto E Wyoming Ave.
- Turn left onto H St.
- Turn right onto Ramona Ave. and Ramona will intersect with I St. in about 400 feet.
