Join United by Blue and REI Norwalk for their first joint waterway cleanup! UBB has partnered with over 10 REI stores in the northeastern United States for a two week cleanup road trip. Help us celebrate World Ocean's Day (6/8) and National Trails Day (6/3) with a cleanup of the Norwalk River! Oyster Shell Park offers beautiful views of the Norwalk River, which is best known for recreational fishing and oystering, and a devastating flood in 1955. Given the parks close proximity to residential and commercial developments and busy turnpike, windblown trash can find it's way into the area and, eventually, the river. Help us preserve this green space and waterway for generations to come!
United By Blue and REI will provide water, trash bags, supplies, and gloves as well as Clif Bars for volunteers. All volunteers will have the chance to win prizes during two cleanup games: weirdest trash find and total weight guess. All volunteers will also receive an exclusive Cleanup Crew trucker hat! Groups of all sizes are welcome!
