Join United by Blue and REI Cranston for their first joint waterway cleanup! UBB has partnered with over 10 REI stores in the northeastern United States for a two week cleanup road trip. Help us celebrate World Ocean's Day (6/8) and National Trails Day (6/3) with a cleanup of the Seekonk River! The Seekonk River is an extension of the Providence River and provides recreation space for rowing (including Brown University) groups and is home to a number of species of fish, crab and birds. Given the river and parks heavy use and proximity to developed roads, trash and litter can find it's way to the river banks. Help us preserve this park and river for generations to come!
United By Blue and REI will provide water, trash bags, supplies, and gloves as well as Clif Bars for volunteers. All volunteers will have the chance to win prizes during two cleanup games: weirdest trash find and total weight guess. All volunteers will also receive an exclusive Cleanup Crew trucker hat! Groups of all sizes are welcome!
