Join United By Blue, the National Park Service, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, and the Natural Areas Conservancy for a cleanup of Canarsie Pier, part of Jamaica Bay!
Canarsie Pier is a historical part of the 75-acre Gateway National Recreation Area located around Jamaica Bay. Though historically used for carnivals and events, the Pier is now a popular spot for fishing, enjoying the beach, and other outdoor recreation activities. The Pier is located on walking/biking paths that lead trail users through this National Recreation Area. Unfortunately, trash and litter can get caught around the pier and connecting shoreline, inhibiting the local ecosystem’s health. Help us clean up the Pier and shoreline so that the people and wildlife that call this park home can continue to do so!
United By Blue will provide all cleanup supplies, snacks, and water. Please wear close-toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty or wet.
United By Blue thanks Zipcar for its transportation support during the 2018 cleanup season.
