Join United By Blue and artist Lindsay Brock Coulter as she teaches us how to dye a finely woven cotton/hemp cloth in Organic Indigo to create a Japanese textile called Tenugui. Tenugui is a cloth without limits ideal for both decorative and utilitarian uses. Favorite uses for Tenugui include sustainable gift-wrapping, reusable handkerchiefs, and stylish headbands. Participants will also learn about the current indigo dye renaissance and the environmental impact of synthetic dyes. Pricing includes everything you need to create a textile of your very own!
Lindsay joins us from YUMUKO WORKSHOP: a social practice studio using textile praxis to engage audiences in sustainability discourse.
